James Poor Thunder, 49, of Granite Falls, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2022, at the Granite Falls Hospital. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 29th from 11 to 1:00 pm with a prayer service at 1 pm at the Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Granite Falls.
James Luke Poor Thunder was born December 6, 1972, in Rapid City, South Dakota and journeyed to the spirit world on July 24, 2022.
James met his soul mate Jamie in 2015, and they were married on September 16, 2017. Together they made their home in Granite Falls. This is where he enjoyed living at their country home caring for the cows, horses, his pig “piggles wiggles”, and his fur babies. The times he cherished most were spent with his family and friends where his smile and contagious laugh brought joy to everyone around him. As James would say “take care and see you on the other side.”
He is survived by his wife Jamie (whom he fondly called his “Love Bug”), her children: Traveler, Cheyanne (Justin), Garrett (Saraya) and granddaughter Charlotte; his sons: Clifford and Shane Poor Thunder and their mother Chrystal MacConnell Poor Thunder; along with special friend Ronald Poslusny “Potsie”, Charle Babbitt whom he mentored and supported like a son, numerous aunts, uncles and friends who loved him and will deeply miss him.
He was preceded in death by his mother Charlene Poor Thunder, maternal grandparents Doreen Red Cloud and Wilson Charles Poor Thunder and sister Nicole Washington.
