James Harlan Colby passed away Monday July 6th, 2015 after a short battle with cancer.
He was born May 25, 1945 in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin to Wilma Colby. He attended school in Bloomer, Wisconsin. In 1973, James and Betty Willams were united in marriage. To this marriage 2 sons and 1 daughter were born. In 1983, James and Kit (Greenwood) were united in marriage. To this marriage James was blessed with 2 step-sons and 2 step-daughters.
He worked many years at Willmar Speedy Print. Recently he was working at MACCRAY High School. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.
He is survived by his mother: Wilma Colby of Verndale, MN; wife Kit Colby of Clara City; son: Mike Colby (Cheryl) of Clara City, MN; step-sons: Brad Greenwood and Steve Greenwood both of Alexandria, MN; step-daughters: Debbie (Randy) Robb of Osakis, MN and Vickie Ness of Washington; brother David Colby of Verndale, MN; grandchildren Dominick, Jasmine, Leia and Paityn of Clara City, MN; John (JD) of Worland, WY; Bryan (Kylie) of Oklahoma; Grant of Brandon, MN; Christopher and Tony of Washington; Stephanie of Deer Creek, MN; Hannah of Alexandria, MN; Brandon of Perham, MN; Whitney of Bemidji MN;Riley of WI; Jordan (Amber), Thomas and Lauren of Dothan, Alabama; great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his grandparents, father, son Fredrick Colby, daughter whom died at birth and brother John.
