James Allen Anderson was born on January 1,1938, in Wood Lake, MN, the son of John A. and Ethel Anderson. He was baptized at United Lutheran Church in Granite Falls and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Granite Falls Lutheran Church. James attended school in Granite Falls and served his country in the United States Air Force from 1957 until his honorable discharge in 1959. On November 12, 1960, James was united in marriage to Dawn Hagen at Granite Falls Lutheran Church. He worked as a mechanic and wood finisher and was employed by Victor Fluid Power as a machinist until his retirement in 2000. James enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and traveling. He also liked to watch football and baseball. James was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather. He loved to spend time with his family and especially enjoyed the company of their cats- Sadie, Beenie & Dolly.In the early morning hours of Monday, September 29, 2008, James was peacefully called from this life at the Clarkfield Care Center, following an extended illness. He was 70 years of age. He is survived by his wife- Dawn of Granite Falls, MN; his daughter- Tammy (& Bob) Schjenken of Sacred Heart, MN; his brother- Curtis (& Marlene) Anderson of Blaine, MN; two sisters- Carol Iverson of Granite Falls, MN and Virg (& Erv) Klimik of Alexandria, MN; grandchildren- Audrey (& Jason) Frey of Bozeman: MT, Josh Schjenken (& special friend Crystal Barker) of Sacred Heart, MN; one great grandson- Connor Frey; sister Eleanor Jensvold of Granite Falls; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son- Brian and a brother- Merlin Anderson.
