James Abner

James E. Abner was born on March 12, 1950, in Glasgow, KY, the son of William F. and Frankie J. Abner. He was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith and attended grade school in Glasgow. James served his country in the united States Army and following his honorable discharge, was united in marriage to Judy Kae Hokins on July 26, 1982 in Houston, TX. He was a skilled handyman, enjoyed fishing, carpentry and working on old cars. On Friday afternoon, July 10, 2009, James was called from this life at the Chippewa County-Montevideo Hospital. He was 59 years of age. He is survived by his wife Judy of Montevideo, MN; his children- Jennifer (& Shawn) Mead of Granite Falls, MN, James Abner, Jr, of Montevideo, MN and Jason Abner (& girlfriend Trisha Mock); his mother Frankie Abner of Albany, KY; two sisters- Joyce (& Bruce) Bolin of Monticello, KY and Jewel (& Alanzo) Smith of Albany, KY; one brother- Ronnie Abner of Albany, KY; grandchildren- Amara Dietz, Drake Mead Calvin Mead and Kadin Brabender; brother & sister-in-laws Jon & Cindy Hokins of Montevideo, Mn and father & mother-in-laws Wilburn & Erma Belshaw, also of Montevideo, MN. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother- Tommy Abner.
