Helen Almeda (Tweeter ) Nordang was born March 19, 1925, to Erick and Anna Tweeter in Wegdahl, MN and went home to the Lord on Friday, February 20, 2009. She had lived her entire life in the Granite Falls'Montevideo area. She attended District #28 Country School in the Wegdahl area and graduated from the Montevideo High School in 1944. She was united in marriage to Ole Nordang on May 4th, 1945 and together they raised three children. Helen was an artist in her own right, creating beautiful paintings, needlework, and quilts. She enjoyed many hours of volunteering her quilting abilities at the church and at the Granite Falls Manor. She especially loved passing along and sharing her talents with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a long time member of the Granite Falls Lutheran Church and the Degree of Honor Protective Association. Helen is survived by her three children; Linda (Howard) Flickinger of Montevideo, Elden Nordang, and Mary (Marlin) Hildahl, both of Granite Falls; nine grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren with another due to arrive in May and one sister, Marlys "Toots" Anderson, of Montevideo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ole, in 1995, four brothers, and two sisters. She was much loved by her family and will be dearly missed.
