Helen Hubel

Helen Hubel, 95, of Maynard, died Thursday, March 29th at the Granite Falls Hospital. She was born November 5, 1916, the daughter of Ewald & Frida Spletter. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Raymond. She attended school in Raymond.On June 3, 1934, Helen was united in marriage to Penny Hubel in Raymond. She enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, her plants and volunteering at church. Being a very avid reader, she had read thousands of books. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her children: Kenny (Roberta) Hubel of Palmyra, Maine; Shirley (Tom) Maroney of Maynard; David (Jerri) Hubel of Montevideo and Dianne (Gene) Goldenstein of Granite Falls; 15 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; siblings: Bud (Toodie) Spletter of New London; Violet Gayken of Osakis; Glen Spletter of Mesa, Arizona, Joyce Knutsen of Fridley and John Reitan of Roseville.She was preceded in death by husband Penny in 1977; her parents, sister Alvina, two brothers: Walter and Henry and daughters-in-law: Linda Hubel and Margaret Hubel.
