Heidi Labatte

Heidi Kay LaBatte was born on September 28, 1963 in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of Joseph and Muriel (Shipley) Hawkins. She was later adopted by Herbert Wilson Sr. and Camilla Wilson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith at Israel Lutheran Church in rural Clarkfield and grew up and attended school in Clarkfield. In 1993, Heidi was united in marriage to Gordon LaBatte. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Granite Falls and was most recently residing in North Redwood, MN. In her younger years, Heidi loved to play volleyball and belonged to 4H. She enjoyed cooking and eating good food, participated in pool and dart leagues, spending time with her family and friends and fishing. She also liked to attend Pow Wows, knit and read. On Monday February 18, Heidi was called from this life in Redwood Falls, MN. She was 44 years of age. She is survived by her husband- Gordon LaBatte of Wisconsin; her father- Joseph Hawkins of Wisconsin; her mother- Muriel Hawkins of International Falls, MN; three daughters- Stephanie LaBatte, Jocelyn LaBatte and Autumn LaBatte, all of Granite Falls, MN; one son- Gordon LaBatte, Jr. of Granite Falls, MN; four brothers- Herbert Wilson, Jr. of Clarkfield, MN, Wesley Shipley, James Shipley & Clinton Shipley, all of International Falls, MN; three nephews- Justin Wilson, Daniel Wilson & Scott Wilson, all of Clarkfield, MN and numerous extended family and friends. Heidi was preceded in death by her adoptive parents; one brother- John Shipley and her ex-partner, Reginald Wayne LaBatte.
