Hattie Hagert, 99, of Clara City, passed away Wednesday, April 22nd at the Clara City Care Center. Funeral arrangements are pending at this time.
Hattie Lena Hagert was born June 17, 1920, the daughter of Albert & Lena (Schmidt) Bittner in Lamberton. She attended country school near Wabasso.
Hattie was united in marriage to Andrew J. Hagert on June 23, 1938, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. They farmed in the Wabasso-Lucan area until 1948, when the moved to a farm near Benson. In 1956 they moved to a farm near Clara City. They later moved to Eagan. Andy retired in 1977 and they moved to Maple Lake near Alexandria. Hattie held several jobs outside of the home ranging from an inspector at Jennie-O’s in Willmar, Controlled Data in the cities and the Alexandria Hospital. Following Andy’s death in 1989, Hattie moved back to Clara City.
Hattie loved to play cards and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She passed away on April 22, 2020, at the Clara City Care Center. She was 99 years of age.
Hattie is survived by her children: James (Marlys) Hagert of Raymond; Dale (Terry) Hagert of Eagan and Audrey (John) Arends of Clara City; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; fourteen great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son-in-law Berend Davids, granddaughter, two brothers and three sisters. Blessed be her memory.
