Harvey Beavers

Harvey Benjamin Beavers was born on March 8, 1930, in Granite Falls, MN, the son of Ralph and Myrtle (Steward) Beavers. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended school in Granite Falls. He served his country in the United States Army from Nov. 1951 to Oct. of 1953.
On Sept. 10, 1966, Harvey was united in marriage to Kathleen Anderson in the Granite Falls Baptist Church. They made their home in Granite Falls where Harvey operated heavy machinery in the construction business and was a custodian at YME Schools for many years. He was an active member of the Granite Falls Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion. He also supported Kathy in her association with the American Legion Riders. He was also a faithful member of Granite Falls Lutheran church.
Harvey enjoyed fishing, camping, wood working, riding his tractor and for many years, bowling on two leagues.
In the early hours of Tuesday Nov. 21, 2017, Harvey passed away peacefully at his home in Granite Falls. He was 87 years of age.
Surviving family include his brother Chester T. (& Truly) Beavers of Wood Lake, MN; nieces & nephews including Sheldon (& Beverly) Sandberg, Roger (& Cheryl) Beavers, Clayton Saunders, Virginia (& Ken) Agre, Marjorie (& Dave) Piehl, Janice Omtvedt, Barbara Kjersten, Beverly Johnson, Cynthia Saunders, Sharon (& Scott) Jessen, Sandra Beavers & Sonja (& Shawn) Christensen. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Kathy; 3 brothers- Harold, Arbie & Marvin and 2 sisters- Ruth Sandberg & Celia Saunders; one niece- Alayna Sandberg and one nephew- Charles Beavers.
