Harriet Ulferts, 87, of Granite Falls died Wednesday, at the Granite Falls Manor. Memorial services will be held on Monday, May 18th at 2:00 pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Granite Falls. Burial will be held in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
Harriet Ulferts was born October 4, 1927 in Rheiderland Township, rural Clara City, the daughter of Henry H. & Elizabeth (Tebben) Grussing. She was baptized at Bunde Reformed Church. Harriet attended country school near Clara City and later in life went on and earned her GED.
She was united in marriage to Calvin Ulferts at Bunde on June 19, 1947. Harriet and Calvin farmed at Raymond, Clara City and Granite Falls. She loved her family, church and community.
Harriet passed away on May 13, 2015, at the Granite Falls Manor. She was 87 years of age.
She is survived by her five children: Larry (Barb) of Montevideo; Pam of Renville; Rodney (Karen) of Woodland Park, Colorado; Valerie (Dave) Skjefte of Granite Falls and Todd of Granite Falls; ten grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; two sisters: Jessie Roskens of Jamestown, North Dakota and Pauline Freiborg of Clara City; brother Louis (Marilyn) Grussing of Montevideo; special friend George Reed; and extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Calvin in 1998; brother Elmer Grussing and sister Katie Feldman.
