Harriet Iverson

February 22, 1917 — December 30, 2010

Harriett Luella Iverson was born February 22, 1917, in Fairmount, North Dakota, the daughter of Gilbert & Charlotte (Johnson) Iverson. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith and confirmed at the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church in Hanley Falls in 1932. Harriett graduated from the Hanley Falls High School in 1936. She was united in marriage to Jesse Ansel Iverson on July 2, 1938, in Granite Falls. Harriett was a homemaker until the 1950Â?s, when she went to work at the packing plant in Granite Falls, where she candled eggs. She also worked at the Granite Hotel as an interior designer, painting and hanging wallpaper. She loved to garden and then preserve her harvest by canning. Ansel would bring her dancing and together they just flowed with the music. Later in life she took bus trips that included Branson, Nashville and Las Vegas. Harriett lived at home until she was 91 and then moved to the Granite Falls Manor for two years and one month.Harriett passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2010, at the Granite Falls Manor. She was 93 years of age. She is survived by her sons: Dallas (Norma) of Granite Falls and Douglas of Albert Lea; four grandsons: Steve (Lisa) of Waconia; Ronald (Julia) of Minneapolis; Kael (Shelly) of Albert Lea and Justin (Amy) of Albert Lea; seven great grandchildren: Amanda, Morgan, Grant, Blake, MaKenna, Jocelyn and Eli; and several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ansel in 1980, and two siblings: Melvern Iverson and Mildred Stevens.
