Harold Stegeman

September 27, 1923 — September 23, 2011

Harold Ray Stegeman was born September 27, 1923 in Clara City, Minnesota the son of Conrad and Lillian Stegeman. He passed away September 17, 2011 at his home north of Montevideo.He was baptized in Clara City and confirmed in 1938 at Trinity Lutheran Church of Havelock. He grew up in rural Montevideo and attended District 22 country school. He began farming at a young age and was still working on the family farm until the time of his death. On December 28, 1944 Harold was united in marriage to Betty Lou Erickson at St. Joseph Catholic Church. To this union four children were born. Harold and Betty were able to share 66 years of marriage, raising their family and farming. He was very proud of the lifelong career he made in agriculture. Harold raised livestock and enjoyed gardening, sitting on his porch, picnics, and spending time with family and friends. He especially enjoyed celebrating the holidays with his family and was known for his fondness for plums on the fourth of July.Harold is survived by his wife Betty of Montevideo; children: Gary (Jeanette) Stegeman of Willmar; Rick (special friend Lavonne) Stegeman of Montevideo; Kevin Stegeman of Montevideo; Karen (Gregg) Enevoldsen of Montevideo; 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; sisters: Christine (Marlowe) Tucholke of Appleton, MN; Ruth Radloff of Huntley, IL; and sister-in-law Eleanor Stegeman of Crystal Lake, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents Conrad and Lillian; brother: Riner Stegeman; a brother in infancy, and a grandson in infancy.
