Harland M. Miller

June 28, 1928 — May 7, 2014

Harland grew up and attended school in the Renville area. In 1951, he was inducted into the United States Army and served his country proudly before his honorable discharge in 1953.
On October 16, 1954, Harland was united in marriage to Deloris Melvold at Granite Falls Lutheran Church. To this union a son Gene was born.
Harland worked at the grain elevator in Renville, and in 1966 they moved to Granite Falls where he worked as a feed truck driver and later at Plews. Before his retirement, he served as custodian of the Granite Falls High School for over a decade.
He enjoyed trips to the casino, leisurely drives, and vacations with Deloris to the Black Hills, Western Ozarks, Colorado, Yellowstone National Park, Los Angeles and Chicago. Harland was an avid Minnesota Twins fan and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters Michelle and Tiffany and great granddaughter Adriana.
Harland is survived by his son, Gene Miller of Granite Falls; granddaughters: Michelle (Miller) Towne of Minneapolis and Tiffany Miller of Lake Lillian; and great granddaughter Adriana Thein.
He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Mabel; and his wife Deloris in 2011.
