Gloria Johnson

Gloria Jeanne Johnson was born on May 10, 1927 in Benson, MN, the daughter of the late Arthur Steenson and Anna (Christenson) Steenson. She attended school in Clarkfield and St. Cloud Teachers College. She was united in marriage with Curtis Johnson on March 27, 1948 at Clarkfield, MN. They lived and farmed near Clarkfield until 1975 when they moved to Montevideo. In 2015 they moved to Granite Falls. Gloria had a passion for teaching and children. She began her 35-year teaching career in Boyd in 1947. She paused her career to raise her family and returned to teaching in Clarkfield until 1990. After retirement, she did substitute teaching in area schools. The last few years she was a loving and devoted caretaker to her husband. She also spent many hours on Facebook and Instagram keeping up with what her family and friends were doing. When the grandchildren and great grandchildren would come to her house she would stop whatever she was doing to devote all her time and attention to them. She is survived by her husband, Curtis; one daughter Cyndi (Don) Lattimore of St. Paul, MN; one son Kurt (Patty) Johnson of Granite Falls, MN.; seven grandchildren: Marni (Greg) Nygard, Kristian (Missy) Lattimore, Adam (Mandy) Johnson, Matt (Alyssa) Johnson, Dana Johnson, Brianna (Brennan) Nordstrom and Alyssa Doty and nine great grandchildren: Amelia and Julia Nygard, Amaya, Harlow and Weston Lattimore, Gavin Jacobsen, Grayson and Jasaya Johnson and Ryker Nordstrom and one brother Herb (Kay) Steenson. She was preceded in death by her parents.
