Gladys Nordstrom

Gladys V. Nordstrom was born April 26, 1920, the daughter of Louis & Ellen Theide, in Montevideo. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She graduated from the Montevideo High School. Gladys was united in marriage to Milton Nordstrom on July 2, 1948, in Montevideo. They made their home and raised a family on a farm south of Montevideo. She enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens. She cherished time spent with family and friends. Gladys always had a smile on her face and enjoyed baking, especially her homemade donuts. She was a faithful member of Strombeck and Salem Lutheran Churches. Gladys passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2009, at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo. She is survived by her sons: James (Diana) Nordstrom of Watson and Kevin (Ann) Nordstrom of Montevideo; her daughter Ellen Lenz of Adrian; seven grand children: Angie (Pete) Swenson, Mindie (Dave) Nurmi, Mike Nordstrom, Kayla (Mitch) Irby, Jason (Anna) Lenz, Troy Lenz, and Brennan Nordstrom; eight great grandchildren and a step sister Corky Gustafson of Hanley Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Milton in November of 2002; son-in-law Steve Lenz in February of 2004; and a step brother Leonard Theide.
