Geraldine Donna Frederick was born April 12, 1940, in Morris, Minnesota to Cletus and Levern (Anderson) Kellen. She was baptized and confirmed in her faith. Geraldine attended Benson High School and graduated in 1958.
After graduating, Geraldine was united in marriage to Richard Frederick on June 28, 1958 at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Benson, Minnesota.
After Richard’s passing, Geraldine found love for the second time. Geraldine met John Dack from Granite Falls, MN. Geraldine later moved to Granite Falls where she and John were joined together in a civil union.
Geraldine was a foster parent for over 25 years. In 1987 Geraldine (and Richard) were recognized as the Minnesota Foster Parents of the year. She also enjoyed reading, sewing, crafting and spending time with her beloved pup, Penny.
On Tuesday, January 25, 2022, she passed away at Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood at the age of 81.
Geraldine is survived by her children, Michael Frederick of Glenwood, Doug (Jeanne) Frederick of Glenwood, Cynthia Kruger (partner, Dan Sandeen) of Redwood Falls, Jeannie (Don) Pflugrath of Castle Rock, CO; grandchildren, Brianna (Derek) Anderson, Lorelei Frederick, Christopher (Alyssa) Frederick, Elyse (Pat) Most, Aaron (Laura) Frederick, Nicholas Kruger, Anthony Kruger, Shelby Williams, Darian Pflugrath and Michael Pflugrath; great grandchildren, Keygan and Elliott Frederick, Weston and Bennett Most and, Madison Frederick. In addition, Geraldine is survived by her partner, John Dack; children, Paul Dack (partner, Kai Leung), Pam (Rorri) Peterson, Kim (Brandon) Fox; grandchildren, Courtney (Josh) Brandt, Amanda Dack, Garrett Dack, Hunter Peterson, Morgan Peterson and Adyson Fox. She is also survived by her siblings, JoAnn (Jack) Mathine, Ken (Lois) Kellen, Paulette Lighthiser, Pam (Jeff) Shodean, and Vicki (Greg) Oxborough; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, Cletus and Levern; husband, Richard.
