Gerald Schrupp

Gerald C. Schrupp was born April 22, 1928, the son of Nicholas and Ruby (Alshire) Schrupp in Bruce Township; Long Prairie, Minnesota. He attended school in Bruce Township. Gerald later served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged in 1953.He was united in marriage to Dorothy Schlenner on January 24, 1954, to which five daughters were born. Gerald worked at the Rock Quarry and later in heavy equipment construction. He retired in April of 1990. Gerald passed away on Friday, July 3, 2009, at the V.A. Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He was 81 years of age. He is survived by his wife Dorothy of Granite Falls; five daughters: Ann Johnson of Granite Falls; Darlene (Jeff) Olson of Elk River; Glenda (Peter) Bendel of Madison; Bonnie (Jaime) Surerus of Hanley Falls; and Nancy (Jason) Schmidt of Echo; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two sisters: LuVern and Lola and two brothers: Darwin and Lyle and their families.He was preceded in death by his parents Nicholas & Ruby; one infant son; in-laws Ed and Ann Schlenner; brothers: Cecil and Laurel; sister Arla; son-in-law David Johnson; grandson Logan Schmidt and grandson-in-law Ron Hansen; brothers-in-law Dwain Norman and Donald Schlenner.
