Genevieve Kruse

Genevieve Deloris Kruse Â?JennyÂ? was born June 27, 1922, the daughter of John & Tilda Johnson in Finley, North Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Trinity Lutheran Church.Jenny graduated from Finley High School in 1940. She was employed at Milwaukee, Wisconsin for two years.She was united in marriage to Alvin Kruse in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in July of 1942. Alvin was drafted into the service in October of 1942. She traveled with him over the states for a year and a half, until he was sent overseas. He was discharged in December of 1945. They lived in various places before settling in Montevideo in 1988. She was a member of Our SaviorÂ?s Lutheran Church and a member of the Rhoda Circle. She also belonged to the VFW Auxiliary in Montevideo. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 47 years in Maynard. Jenny passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2012, at the Stearns Place in Paynesville. She was 90 years of age. She is survived by her children: LaVaughn Swenson of Barefoot Bay, Florida; Rev Ron (Dana) Kruse of Caruthers, California; Bob (Diane) Kruse of New London; Juanita (Duane) Nelson of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Elaine (Dr. John) Mueller of Dallas, Texas and Gary (Paula) Kruse of Minot, North Dakota; 13 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; one sister Phyllis Stordahl of Owattona; two sisters-in-law: Evelyn Johnson of Hedgesville, West Virginia and Eileen Johnson of Phoenix, Arizona and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alvin Kruse; four brothers: Wallace, Donald, Hubert & Lowell and one son-in-law Gary Swenson. Memorial preferred to the Mayo Clinic Rheumatoid Arthritis Division.
