Genevieve Frank

Genevieve Carmella Frank was born on July 9, 1914, in West Bend, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Mary Elbert. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith and attended school in West Bend. She moved to Minnesota and in 1942, was united in marriage to Leonard Frank in Bird Island, MN. They then moved to the Maynard, MN area where they farmed for 25 years.In 1967, they moved to Raymond, MN, where Leonard operated a small bicycle shop. Leonard passed away in 1988 and Genevieve took up residence in Clara City at the Community Haus Apartments. She was a faithful member of St. Clara Catholic Church and participated in numerous church related activities, including CCW, Bible Study and Mission Circle. She enjoyed gardening, canning, quilting, crocheting, sewing and baking. She also loved flowers and bird watching. On Sunday, August 17, 2008, Genevieve was called from this life while a resident of the Clara City Care Center. She was 94 years of age. She is survived by her nephews- William Elbert of Pinole, CA and Alan Elbert of Clara City, MN; one brother- Edward (& Judy) Elbert of Willmar, MN. Preceding her in death were her parents; infant sister- Leona; her husband; three brothers- Marvin, Francis & Peter and three sisters- Marie & Loretta and Margaret.
