Gary Mitlyng

Gary Jerome Mitlyng was born on April 3, 1948, in Montevideo, Minnesota the son of George and Stella Mitlyng. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Bergen Lutheran Church and graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1966. Gary then attended Vocational College in Willmar for mechanics from 1967 Â? 1968. Gary joined the United States Navy in 1969 and served his country as an aircraft mechanic until his honorable discharge in 1975. Upon his return home, Gary was employed in the road construction business.Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and tinkering with anything mechanical. He also loved socializing and spending time with his many friends. He was called from this life on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, following a sudden illness. He was 64 years of age.Surviving family included is three sisters- Janice (& James) Zoch of Alexandria, Connie Mitlyng of Maple Grove, and Pamela (& Jack) Hansen of Benson, Arizona; 12 nieces & nephews and 17 grand nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers- Ronald & Lyndon;sister- Margaret Anderson; niece Cathy Paulson and nephew Brad Mitlyng.
