Gary Just

Gary Just, age 76, of Montevideo, Minnesota, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at his winter home in Laughlin, Nevada. Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Saturday, February 15, 2025 from 1:00 - 2:30 PM at Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Gary Herbert Just was born on May 8, 1948 in Clarkfield, Minnesota, the son of Herbert and Gladys (Skaalen) Just. He was baptized and confirmed at Tyro Lutheran Church in Boyd, Minnesota. Gary graduated from Boyd High School in 1966 in Boyd, Minnesota and continued his education first at the Granite Falls Vo-Tech and graduated from Willmar Vo Tech with a degree in Tool and Die.

After graduation, Gary began working at various machine shops in Montevideo, Boyd and Wood Lake, Minnesota before opening his own shop, Just Machining, Inc in Montevideo in 1997. On June 16, 1973, Gary was united in marriage to Susan Schneider at Assumption Catholic Church in Morris, Minnesota. The couple were blessed with three sons, Brian, Steven and Kevin.

Gary retired in 2014 and began wintering in Laughlin, Neveda with Sue which they both thoroughly enjoyed. He enjoyed gardening, bird watching, sudoku, jigsaw puzzles and playing poker with family.

Gary is survived by his wife, Susan Just; sons, Brian (Erin) Just of Charlotte, VT, Steven (Mary) Just of Little Falls, Kevin (Kim Hicks) Just of Fairfax, CA; grandchildren, Alise, Sven, Emil, Tate, and Kit Just and Ethan Quaal; mother-in-law, Josephine Schneider; as well as other relatives and friends.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Gladys Just; sister, Marlys Christensen; father-in-law, Bernard Schneider; brother-in-law, David Trutwin.
