Gail Waller

Gail Ethel Waller was born July 26, 1936 in Granite Falls, the daughter of Leslie and Alma Sherman. She passed away Friday November 9, 2012 in Renville at the Renvilla Care Center. She was baptized September 14, 1936 and confirmed May 21, 1950 at Granite Falls Lutheran Church. She grew up and attended school in the Granite Falls area, graduating from Granite Falls High School with the class of 1954. On February 4, 1955 Gail was united in marriage to Virgil Waller at Granite Falls Lutheran Church. To this union four children were born. Gail was a devoted wife and mother caring for their home while they lived on the farm. They moved to Granite Falls in 1975. She worked as a baker at the Crown Restaurant and later as a dishwasher with the Granite Falls Schools. She enjoyed gardening and reading, and was a talented seamstress often doing alterations for people in the community. She was also known for her cooking and baking and took pride in always having a meal ready for house guest and visitors.Gail is survived by her husband, Virgil Waller of Granite Falls; children: Brian (Debbie) Waller of Granite Falls; Pam Loken of Granite Falls; Kevin (Kathi) Waller of Prior Lake; Craig (Darcee) Waller of Hutchinson; nine grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brother Leslie (Renee) Sherman of Granite Falls; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents: Leslie and Alma; sisters: Lorraine Lindahl and Deanna Klennert; and a son-in-law: Larry Loken.
