Frank Pharm Craig, Jr. passed away on September 16, 2016 at Clara City, Minnesota, at age 91. He was born in Tarkio, Missouri on November 16, 1924 to Frank P. Craig and Myrtle Emma Fickel. He was greeted by 2 adult sisters who often acted as his caretakers in his youth. Over the years the family moved from Maryville, Missouri to Chicago, Illinois to Cincinnati, Ohio. Frank married Ellen Reichel in 1948 after four years in the U.S. Army Aircorps, where he served in the Pacific on B-17 as a bombardier during World Warr II. Frank and Ellen met as students at University of Cincinnati. During his life he worked in advertising for Shilito’s and other large retail stores. He owned and operated a retail store in Montevideo. After retirement, tired of the cold weather, he volunteered for 2 years in the Peace Corps. He was sent to South Africa to learn Swahili. His family smiled because he was not an outdoor man. He didn’t even like picnics. He was devoted to his wife, Ellen and kind to his daughter, Victoria Craig. He is survived by his daughter, Victoria Craig of Clara City and 2 nieces, Patricia Mathers, Galesburg, Illinois and Frances Smoot, Marietta, Georgia, and numerous great nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen, his parents, 2 sisters, Opal Clark, Galesburg, Illinois and Thelma Maier, Cincinnati, Ohio. Arrangements have been made for burial in Mount Vernon Cemetery, North Henderson, Illinois
