Florence Sietsema

Florence Wilhelmina Sietsema was born on February 13, 1930, in rural Clara City, MN, the daughter of Hye J. and Hilka N. Freese. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clara City and attended country school. Florence was united in marriage to DeLos Sietsema on April 12, 1950 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clara City. Florence and DeLos made their home in Sacred Heart were Florence worked for Warner Manufacturing. She also worked at the Granite Falls Hospital, the RenVilla Nursing Home and the Clara City Care Center. Florence enjoyed helping people and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and attended Bible Study at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Sacred Heart. On Saturday Oct. 3, 2009, Florence was called from this life while a resident of the Clara City Care Center. She was 79 years of age. Surviving family include her husband DeLos of Clara City, MN; her children- Sharon (& Milo) Knutson of Belview, MN; Michael Sietsema of Sacred Heart, MN; Daniel (& Nancy) Sietsema of Wolf Point, MT; Randy (& Val) Sietsema of Clara City, MN ;and Dawn Speiser also of Clara City, MN; her sister- Mary Freese of Maynard, MN; 3 sisters-in-law Lilly Mae Kleene of Clara City, MN; Luella Bruns of Renville, MN; and Irene Hammerlund of Garrison, MN; 21 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; 3 brothers- Simon Freese, Hye John Jr. Freese & Harm Freese; 2 sisters- Minnie Stenerson & Betty Schroeder; son-in-law John Speiser; brothers-in-law Bob Stenerson and Bob Schroeder; nieces Connie Schrafnagel and Barb Diers; a nephew- Roger Stenerson and an infant nephew.
