Eyvonne Hoese, 81, of Granite Falls, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2024, surrounded by her family at her residence.  Memorial services will be held on Thursday, August 29th at 11:00 am at Granite Falls Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Thursday.  An interment will be held at Our Saviors Lutheran Church of Baxter in rural Montevideo, following the luncheon after the service. 

Eyvonne Geraldine Alvina Hiepler was born February 10, 1943, to Fred & Ida Hiepler in Lac qui Parle County (Dawson Hospital). She was the youngest of six children. She grew up helping her mom bake, garden, canning, raising chickens and due to her age, grew up with many of her nieces and nephews of similar age.

She grew up in Lac qui Parle Village, was confirmed at Baxter Lutheran Church June 10, 1956, and graduated from Milan, MN High School 1960. She worked 25 years for the Western Guard Newspaper in Madison, MN; worked at county recorders offices in Madison, MN and Glenwood, MN & the License Bureau in Alexandria, MN until retiring, then moving to Granite Falls, MN in 2008, to be closer to her children.

In 1967, she married James Marczak, at the Wilno Catholic Church, Wilno, MN and to this union four children were born. Christine Hansen (Lee Kilpatrick), Lester Marczak (Kim), Lisa LaMere (Anthony), Joleen Marczak (Jon Haff).

Eyvonne enjoyed flower gardening, reading, refinishing furniture, crafts, garage sales, having coffee with friends and neighbors and home improvement projects. During the years raising her four kids on a farm west of Madison, MN, she was active in church, with her children and their sports and 4H group, vegetable gardening, helping in the fields, raising poultry.

In 1994, Eyvonne married Luther G. Hoese at Loretto, MN and gained four stepchildren Lisa Ingvalson (Robert), Brian Hoese (Shannon), Eric Hoese (Christine), Nathan Hoese (Jolene).

While living on Lake Andrew & Osakis, she and Luther enjoyed entertaining the grandchildren with craft projects, fishing, and baking. Springtime was her favorite, as there would be many trips to the nurseries and then planting and transplanting of flowers.

There was not a birthday or anniversary she missed for any of her kids, grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings.

She was grandmother of fifteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, eight step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.

She loved her Lord and looked forward to being united with her parents and husband Luther.

Survivors include her first husband James Marczak, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sister Deloris Kojetin, sister-in-law Geraldine Hiepler, many nieces and nephews and cousins.

 Eyvonne was proceeded in death by her parents, husband Luther, two brothers: Edwin & Earl Hiepler, two sisters: Leona Krugerud and Anna Krugerud, stepson Brian Hoese.
