Everett Julian Standfuss
Born 7/21/1940 – Died 10/2/2018 Everett was born on July 21, 1940 to Frederick and Lillian Standfuss, he was their cherished, only child. He first left home to serve in the United States Air Force. Upon his return home, he found his love and was married to Sharon Lee Kuester on June 14th of 1963. To this blessed union, they had 4 children whom they raised in Benson, Sacred Heart and Renville. Everett was a truck driver that took him too many destinations, but all roads led to his wife and children. Life was never easy, as it often is, but their love for each other, children and later grandchildren kept their faith in family alive. His interests included: hunting, fishing, a beer and socializing with the locals at the bar. Even if the bar wasn’t local, his easy going nature made everyone feel as though he belonged there.
Today his children continue to keep the love from their parents alive by cherishing their own families, just as their parents did through the years. Everett was known by many names: son, husband, father, grandfather, apa, pops and papa, all having special meaning to him. Losing his wife to cancer in 2009, was one of the hardest things he would ever have to endure. Together, Sharon and he, survived life challenges, jobs that took them from each other, the death of parents, a move to Mississippi, the catastrophic damage to their home by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, but together they overcame and were stronger than ever in their faith in family.
Everett is celebrating in heaven with his wife Sharon, his parents, Frederick and Lillian, and many other beloved friends and family. Left to cherish his memory are his children: Angie (Sean) Jensvold, Curt (Lynn) Standfuss, Shellie (Jeff) Tanke and Christine Standfuss: his grandchildren: Ami, Kayla, River, Halie; Brandon, Bruce, Bradley; Devin and Dylan; Christa, Desi and Amber. He has left his enduring mark upon his great grandchildren: TJ, Jayce and Lex; Alia and Destyn; Korben, Kourtlynn and Keileigh, Brayden and Braxton; Brielle; Chase, Callan, Coyer; Poppy, Brynnlee and Jory. Dad, the last mile has come, it is time to quiet the engine and hand over the keys, we rejoice in your homecoming and reunion with family.
The family would like to thank the Granite Falls Manor for their care of our father in his last years.
