Etta was born on Thursday, November 10th, 1910 on the Carlton Lake Farm southeast of Montevideo. She was the oldest of six children born to Mike and Eva Grace. Etta passed away on Monday, August 29th, 2011 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo. Etta attended various country schools in Minnesota while growing up as she and her family lived in Montevideo, Barnum, Nemadji and Grand Meadow. After one year of high school, Etta went to work to help support the family. She eventually moved to Wisconsin where she was employed for several years as a seamstress at the OshKosh B'gosh Overall Factory. She then went to Florida for a year, working as a waitress after which she moved back to Montevideo where her parents had returned to farm. It was there she met Andrew Danielson, a farmer in Stony Run Township. They married on February 10th, 1939 and lived on the farm south of Montevideo. When his health began to fail, Andy became a resident of Luther Haven Nursing Home and Etta moved into Burnsdale Apartments. Etta became a resident of Luther Haven in 2008. She enjoyed sewing, flower and vegetable gardening, canning and was a great cook. She was the happiest when she was spending time with her family and grandchildren. Etta was active in the Bergen Lutheran Church teaching Sunday school, serving as Sunday School Superintendent, participating in Bible Study and Circle. She was also active in home-makers, served as adult leader in 4-H and a volunteer in school. She is survived by her son Larry (Peggy) of Montevideo; grandchildren: Layne (Helene) Danielson of Brainerd, Dawn (Wayne) Viger of Minnetonka, Jesse of Montevideo and Jody (Chris) Wharton of Spicer; great grandchildren: Atlie and Etta of Brainerd, Andrew, Maddie, Daniel, Johnathon and Joseph of Minnetonka, and Silas and Lukas of Spicer. She is also survived by her sisters: Marjory Danielson and Florence (Don) Halverson both of Montevideo and her sister-in-law Myrtle Grace of Willmar. She was preceded in death by her husband Andrew in 2002, her daughter Kathleen in 2010, her parents Mike and Eva and her brothers: Don, Bob and Gordy.
