Ervin Niemeyer

Ervin Vernon Niemeyer was born August 31, 1937, the son of Kasjen & Augusta Niemeyer in Clara City. He was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clara City and confirmed there on March 25, 1951. Erv graduated from the Clara City High School. Following high school Erv served his country in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in November of 1957. Erv was united in marriage to Marlys Helen Hauer on March 1, 1958, in Dawson, Minnesota. He was an over the road truck driver, traveling across the country until his retirement. Erv enjoyed camping and fishing and playing buck, yahtzee and marbles. He liked to play mechanic in his spare time.He is survived by his wife Marlys; three children: Patty (Brian) Norman of Granite Falls; Jim (Cherie) Niemeyer of Maynard; Bill (Tabby) Niemeyer of Granite Falls; 7 grandchildren: Jason Norman (special friend Michelle Magnuson) of Hutchinson; Candice (Jamey) Freese of Maynard; Nicole Niemeyer (special friend Mark Schwanke) of Olivia; Aleisha & Andy Niemeyer of Maynard and Chelsey & Ashley Niemeyer of Granite Falls; three great grandchildren: Arianna & Tanner Freese and Kendal Niemeyer; brother August "Mic" (Darlene) Niemeyer of Raymond; sister Mable (Lloyd) Ruesch of Maynard; and extended family and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter Sue Niemeyer; one sister Sofie Bodin and a niece Debbie Gerdes.
