On March 24, 1989 a beautiful black haired little girl was born to Cecelia and William in Freeport, IL. Her birth mother called her, "Natasha" and chose a new family to love and raise her. On April 24th, that same little girl became Emily Ann Waylander. She came home to Minnesota with her mom, dad and big brother, Joshua (who wanted to call her "Spike"). Emily was baptized at Medo Lutheran Church in Mapleton, MN. Her God Parents are Uncle Gary and Aunt Connie Waylander. One year later, Emily was blessed with a baby sister, Abigail. Emily was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo, MN. Emily graduated from Montevideo High School in 2007. She was getting ready for a future of sharing her beautiful smile, her love for adventure and her generosity with the world at North Dakota State University in Fargo, ND. Emily's love for life, God's creation, her family and more friends than we ever knew gave her a generosity we all shared. She had a passion for MS TRAM, riding 300 miles 4 of the past 5 years. Her latest tattoo said: ?You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.? Emily is survived by her parents Gregg & Gayle, brother Joshua and sister-in-law Rachel, sister Abigail; grandparents Virgil & Lorabelle Hempstead, Marlin & Joy Waylander; aunts and uncles Barb Hempstead, Laurie & Tom Hornung, Gary & Connie Waylander, David & Rhonda Waylander; cousins: Cory, Brad, Marc, Stu & Heidi, Ross & Cara, Kenny, Phillip, Brad & Ashly, Tiffani, Whitney, Will, Derek, Jared and Kinsey. She was preceded in death by Valerie Hempstead and Monty Hempstead. On November 2, 2009, at 20 years of age, Emily left this world, leaving a multitude of broken hearts and joining the choir of angels singing songs of praise to the God who created her and Jesus who loved her, named her and claimed her as his own.
