Ellsworth Frederickson

G. Ellsworth Frederickson was born May 5, 1919, in Granite Falls, the son of John and Selma (Mathison) Frederickson. He was the third generation to farm and live on the homesteaded farm in Hawk Creek Township until he moved to Ren Villa Health Care. He was baptized and confirmed and remained a lifelong member of Hawk Creek Lutheran Church. He graduated from Granite Falls High School in 1937. Ellsworth was united in marriage to Thelma Dahl on June 16, 1951, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Sacred Heart. Ellsworth entered the military service on March 26, 1941, and served for four years, seven months and four days. He was honorably discharged on October 29, 1945. He served in the Armored Cavalry in Normandy, France and Central Europe. Ellsworth is survived by two brothers-in-law: Stanley (Ruby) Dahl of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Otis Dahl of Bella Vista, Arkansas; one sister-in-law Doris Spence of Seattle, Washington; three cousins: Merlin (Corky) Gustafson of Hanley Falls; Joan (James) Wuthrich of Bryan, Texas and Marlys (Darrell) Swam of Granite Falls; 12 nieces and nephews and a host of neighbors and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Thelma on May 20, 2009; and one brother Morris.
