Eleanor Hagemeyer

Eleanor T. Hagemeyer was born on November 15, 1923, in Crate Township, Chippewa County, Minnesota, the daughter of Reiner and Lena Tammen. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a lifelong, faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clara City. Eleanor attended county school and graduated from the Clara City High School. She was united in marriage to Louie Hagemeyer on November 23, 1943 and together they farmed northwest of Clara City for 40 years. In 1981, they retired and moved into Clara City. Eleanor took part in many church activities and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She liked to play cards and will be remembered as a kind, compassionate woman who was blessed with fantastic organizational skills and the ability to plan ahead. She passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Tuesday, July 17, 2012, while a resident of the Clara City Care Center. She was 88 years of age.Surviving family include her son Gary (& Pat) Hagemeyer of Marshall; grandchildren- Holly (& Tom) Schifsky, Heidi Hagemeyer (& fiancé Andy Flock); great grandchildren- Garrett, Braxton and Keaton Schifsky and Diego Hagemeyer; step grandchildren ? Ryan (& Angel) Bauman and Andy and Ashley Bauman. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband Louie (in 1995); and 2 brothers- Simon and George.
