Edna Cline

December 20, 1908 — June 23, 2012

Edna Goodman Cline was born in Thomas, Oklahoma on December 20, 1908. Her parents were Van and Anna Goodman. She had five sisters and one brother. Edna's family were devastated by the dust bowl days, and finally sold their farm and moved to Idaho in 1929. Three sisters stayed in Oklahoma with their husbands. Edna finished her high school studies in Nampa and on January 1, 1931, was married to Leslie Cline, who also moved to Nampa with the Goodman family. To that union were born two children-Glenna Dorlene and Elvus Joe. Edna believed in God all her life and prayed to be saved when she was about five years of age. She was baptized into the Church of the Brethren at age nine and served God all her life. Later she became an ordained minister with the Assembly of God Church, working among American Indians in Denver, Co. She established a mission aided by her husband helping Indians who left the reservation with food, clothing, and church services. For many years she also had a mission for street people on Larimer Street in Denver. Returning to Idaho, she and her husband Leslie moved to her father's farm to care for him until he died in 1976. Her husband also died that same year. Then she moved to her home in Bowmont, Idaho. She lived there alone, helping as many people as she could with anything she could do or give, and continuing to minister in churches. When she sold her home and property in 2001, we learned she had made many quilts to help poor people in her community. She moved to live with her son Joe in Denver for a time, and later lived with her daughter Glenna, and her husband Harold, in Minnesota and Texas until her passing. She has been actively involved with church work all her life and we celebrate her long life with joy.On Saturday, June 23rd, 2012, at the age of 103, Edna was called from her earthly home while a patient at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital.Cherishing her memory are her daughter Glenna Dorlene Landmark(Cline/Weaver)/Harold Landmark;grandchildren: Dorlene Rae Anderson (Weaver)/Andrew Anderson; Deanna Lynn Cypher (Weaver)/Wesley Cypher; Ronald Paul Weaver/Ellen Weaver (Montegelli); Arthur Wayne Cline/Michelle Meether; Deborah Johnson (Cline)/Scott Johnson; Patricia Fredrickson (Cline)/Carl Fredrickson; step-granddaughter Sharol Stenson(Landmark)/Steve Stenson; 16 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.Preceding her in death were her husband Leslie Arthur Cline, son, Elvus Joe Cline, granddaughter Marjorie (Cline), step-grandson Daniel Landmark, her parents, and all of her siblings.
