Doris Brovold

Doris May Brovold was born on March 15, 1923 in Cottonwood, Minnesota the daughter of Oliver and Clara Martinson. She passed away Saturday June 8, 2013 in Robbinsdale, Minnesota at North Memorial Hospital.She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith at St. Lucas Church in rural Cottonwood. She attended country school until 8th grade and graduated from Clarkfield High School with the class of 1941.On April 8, 1952 Doris was united in marriage to Clinton Brovold. To this union four children were born. They farmed near Clarkfield for two years before moving to Granite Falls.Doris worked for many years at Plews Manufacturing. She was an active member of Granite Falls Lutheran Church. She enjoyed reading, dancing, going to the lake, spending time with her family and especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren.Doris is survived by her daughters: Bev (Steve) Ims; Gail (Joe) Rohlik; sons: Curt Brovold; Lee (Jen) Brovold; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sister: Eileen Pyle; brothers: Russell Martinson and John Martinson; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton in 2002; her parents Oliver and Clara; and sister Olivine.
