Dora Radunz

November 7, 1915 — February 5, 2013

Dora Anna Radunz was born on November 7, 1915, in Montevideo, the daughter of William and Emilie Markmann. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith on November 21, 1915 in Montevideo and as a young child, moved with her family to a farm near Granite Falls.In 1929 Dora was confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Granite Falls. She attended country school and Granite Falls public school through the 8th grade when her help was needed in operating the family farm.On November 16, 1935, Dora was united in marriage to Edward Walter Radunz in the St. Paul Lutheran Church parsonage. Edward passed away in 1971.Dora's life was filled with farm work, gardening, Ladies Aide/LWML, Whist Card Club, Birthday Club, quilting, sewing, crocheting and spending time with her family and friends. For a number of years, she worked as a cook at the Granite Falls Municipal Hospital and Manor. In her later years Dora enjoyed visiting and helping with activities at St. Michael's Nursing Home in Sauk Centre.In 1980 Dora moved to Granite Falls to care for her sister, Lydia. From 1990 to 2008 she lived in the Sauk Centre area to be near Ellen and Roland. In 2009 she became a resident of the Granite Falls Manor where she passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at the age of 97.She is survived by her daughters- Ellen (& Rolland) Blasig of Burtrum, Joyce (& Bernard) Cruser of Granite Falls; grandchildren- Joneal (& Donna) Blasig, Joelle Blasig, Jana (& Larry) Gross, Brenda (& Dennis) Petersen, Bernard (& Melody) Cruser, Jr; 4 great grandchildren- Zoe, Teya & Piper Gross & Jennavive Blasig; her sister-in-law Mildred Radunz of Raymond and extended family. Dora was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and her two sisters- Lydia Kietzmann & Anna Oldenburg.
