Donna Larson

Donna Marie Larson was born on March 4, 1945, in Granite Falls, Minnesota to Murvin Charles Schuler and Leone Myrtle (Sandberg), the eldest of their seven children. She graduated from Granite Falls High School in 1963 and then attended airline school in the Cities. Upon completion of her training, Donna married Jerry Keith Larson. They resided in the Montevideo/Granite Falls area all their lives, except for a four-year period when they lived in Oregon. They had one son, Kimm Lane Larson, who died in a hunting accident at 9 years of age in 1974.

Both Jerry and Donna worked at Parker and Hannifan in Granite Falls for many years until it closed. Donna also worked at the Granite Falls Manor for a few years before retiring. She enjoyed playing the piano and singing. She and Jerry also loved vacationing in Duluth and traveling the North Shore in the fall.

Donna passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on April 18, 2025, at 80 years of age.

Donna is survived by Jerry, her loving husband of 61 years and her siblings, Linda Horning, Doug Schuler (Liz), Kathy Weberg (Rol), Mary Streblow (Dale); Jerry’s siblings, Lolly Backer, Debbie Lauritson (Bob), Cindy Kleven; sisters-in-law, Jeri Schuler, Karen Schuler; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Murvin and Leone Schuler; in-laws, Lloyd and Fern Larson; her son, Kimm Larson; brothers, Don Schuler, Charles Schuler; brother-in-law, Darold (Shorty) Horning; nephews, Levi Streblow, Bruce Sterling; sister-in-law, Betty Ulfert; brother-in-law, Jim Backer.

A Memorial Service will be Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Granite Falls with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.
