Donald Kortgard

Donald George Kortgard was born on Sept. 22, 1943 at his family home in Renville County, MN, the son of Berdine and Violet Kortgard. He grew up in the Renville area, attending Renville public schools. On Oct. 24, 1970, Donald was united in marriage to Paulette Frances Jaenisch at St. Clara Catholic Church in Clara City. They made their home in Clara City and Donald was employed as a transport trucker for Service Oil Co. out of Prinsburg, MN. Donald enjoyed fishing, camping, scanning the internet on his computer and assembling scale model tractors. He was called from this life on Monday morning, April 27, 2009, at the St. Cloud Hospital following heart complications. He was 65 years of age. He is survived by his wife Paulette of Clara City, MN; his son Justin of Clara City, MN; his daughter Stacey (& Rob) Giannella of LaPlata, MD; a brother Roger (& Judy) Kortgard of Clara City, MN; two sisters- Wanda Schwiderski of Benson, MN and Diana Bauman of Wabasso, MN; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Donald in death were his parents; one sister Carol and a brother Larry.
