Donald B Enstad
August 11, 1922 — February 9, 2015
Donald Burton Enstad was born August 11, 1922, in Atwater, Minnesota, the son of John & Elsa (Renando) Erickson. He was adopted at the age of two by Hank and Laura Enstad. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Stony Run Lutheran Church, and came to know Christ as his savior in 1978 at the Assembly of God Church.
On June 20, 1948, Don was united in marriage to Jeanette Saunders at Stony Run Lutheran Church. Don liked to spend time with family and friends. He enjoyed the auto races and doing a little fishing at the annual Enstad family vacation, "at the lake". In the winter, he took in high school basketball games. Don farmed most of his life. He was employed in road construction, drove school bus, was a custodian and gas attendant. He enjoyed league bowling, a cup of coffee, and breakfast at Hardees.
Don passed away on Monday, February 9, 2015, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. He was 92 years of age.
He is survived by his wife Jeanette, five children: Twyla (Dennis) Schiller of Granite Falls; Jerel Enstad (fiancé Deanna Corder) of Granite Falls; Lori (Delvin) Schiller of St. James; Brian (Kristi) Enstad of Cottonwood; and Jeffery (Sue) Enstad of Willmar; 18 grandchildren: Ryan (Tammy) Schiller; Clint Schiller (special friend Jenna); Hollie (Chad) St. Arnauld; Elizabeth Enstad (special friend Tim); James Enstad (special friend Kate); Preston Enstad; Steph (Brian) Fitzgerald; Larry Wilking; Austin Enstad; Joel Pine; Jasmine Pine; Sadie (Paul) Wermers; Sarah (Jordan) Bergeman; Stacey (Mike) Arneson; Brady Enstad; Bayley Enstad; Spencer Enstad; and Marin Enstad; 28 great grandchildren and extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his birth parents John and Elsa Erickson, adopted parents Hank and Laura Enstad, infant brother Joel Erickson and infant grandson Avery Josiah Enstad.
