Dolores was born on May 26th, 1928, in Providence Township, MN to Albert and Inez (Ellefson) Larson. In 1946, she graduated from Dawson High School where she enjoyed choir and cheerleading. She married Donald Haugum of Montevideo on June 1, 1947, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dawson, MN. Don's occupation took their family to many communities in Minnesota including Montevideo, Faribault, and Mankato. Upon retirement Dolores and Don moved to Glenwood, MN and lived on Lake Minnewaska where they enjoyed hosting their many guests. They returned to their roots in Montevideo in 2000, and were happy to spend time with old friends. After Don passed away Dolores remained in Montevideo until 2007, when she returned to Mankato to be closer to her five children and their families. Dolores cherished the time spent with family and all of her many friends. She looked forward to every day in a positive way and she believed in angels. She loved flowers, music, to sing, pets and watching birds. Her hobbies included cooking, sewing and gardening. She was an avid Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan. She was a member of the Montevideo American Legion Auxiliary, and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and the Food Shelf. She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo where she was a part of the Altar Guild.
