Dennis Swenson

Dennis Michael Swenson was born on February 15, 1944, in Alexandria, MN, the son of Arleigh M. and Grace Swenson. He was baptized in the Christian faith and confirmed on September 21, 1958 at the Kensington Covenant Church in Kensington, MN. He grew up and attended public school in Kensington, MN. Dennis was employed for 10 years by the Minneapolis Moline Company and then worked for 10 years at Regal Homes in Montevideo. He was united in marriage to Sharon May Telkamp on June 9, 1962 and for 23 years he was employed by Friendship Homes in Montevideo, MN. Dennis was a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events, attend state dance team competitions and watch NASCAR racing. He also liked to play Texas Hold ?em, fish, hunt, golf, go camping, surf the internet on his computer and shooting archery. While in the loving presence of his family, Dennis was peacefully called from this life on June 30, 2010, while a patient at the Chippewa County-Montevideo Hospital. He was 66 years of age.He is survived by his wife- Sharon of Montevideo, MN; his daughter- Desiree (& Scott) Dreier of Granite Falls, MN; his grandchildren- Tanner Kompelien of Granite Falls, MN and Danielle Dreier of Shakopee, MN; two sisters- Betty(& Orin) Turnquist of Montevideo, MN and Marilyn (& Jerry) Huntley also of Montevideo, MN; one brother- Rodger (Pam) Swenson of Frazee, MN and several nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, extended family & many, many friends. Preceding Dennis in death were his parents and a niece-Wendy Barker.
