Delos Sietsema

DeLos Peter Sietsema was born on June 28, 1927, in Renville, Minnesota, the son of Dow and Minnie Sietsema. He was baptized and confirmed in the Presbyterian faith and attended country school. He served his country in the United States Army and on April 12, 1950, DeLos was united in marriage to Florence at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clara City. DeLos and Florence made their home in Sacred Heart where DeLos was engaged in farming. He later was employed by Parker Hannifin Company in Granite Falls. DeLos loved the outdoors. He liked to fish, hunt and take soil samples for local agricultural purposes. He also loved to work with his hands repairing old automobiles. He was a devoted husband and loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. Due to his failing health, DeLos had been residing at the Clara City Care Center. He passed away there on Tuesday March 30, 2010 at the age of 82 years. He is survived by his children- Sharon (& Milo) Knutson of Belview, Mike Sietsema of Sacred heart, Daniel (& Nancy) Sietsema of Wolfpoint, MT, Randy (& Valerie) Sietsema of Clara City and Dawn Speiser also of Clara City; 2 sisters- Lilly Mae Kleene of Clara City and LuElla Bruns of Renville; 21 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 3 sisters-in-law, Mary Freese of Maynard, Geraldine Freese of Maynard, and Irene Hammerland of Garrison, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Preceding DeLos in death were his parents; his wife (in 2009); an infant son; 2 brothers- Daniel Sietsema & Herman Sietsema; a son-in-law, John Speiser; sisters-in-law: Betty Schroeder and Minnie Stenerson; and brothers-in-law: Leonard Kleene, John Bruns, Bob Stenerson, Bob Schroeder, Simon Freese, Hye John Freese, Jr. and Harm Freese.
