Dawn Marie Gerdes was born September 6, 1962 in Granite Falls the daughter of Harold and LaVonne Uttermark. She passed away January 7, 2015 at the Granite Falls Hospital.
She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Granite Falls. Dawn grew up with her family near Asbury and attended school in Granite Falls. On April 24, 1993, Dawn was united in marriage with Terry Gerdes at St. Paul Lutheran church in Granite Falls. Dawn received her GED through Granite Falls Vo-Tech and worked at Norcraft in Cottonwood, MN for 16 years. She enjoyed fishing, demolition derby’s, and was active in Tae Kwon Do.
She loved spending time with family and friends and was known to help people in a time of need. Dawn’s dogs Lulu, Tuffy, Meme, Maggie and Boo Boo were very important to her.
Dawn is survived by her husband Terry Gerdes of Granite Falls; son Justin Uttermark of Granite Falls; brother Brad Uttermark of Wellington, Texas and other extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Lavonne Uttermark; sister Kristy Jo Uttermark; brother Mike Uttermark; sister-in-law Sharon Uttermark; brother John in infancy; grandparents Jon and Christine and dogs Ernie and LaLa.
