Dawn Marie Anderson, age 76, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at Ren Villa Health Center in Renville, Minnesota. Dawn was born March 5, 1943, the daughter of Melvin and Viola (Luedke) Hagen, in Granite Falls, Minnesota. She grew up in Granite Falls and attended school there.
Dawn was united in marriage to James Anderson on November 12, 1960, at the Granite Falls Lutheran Church in Granite Falls. The couple made their home in Granite Falls and were blessed with two children, Tammy and Brian. She worked at Plews Manufacturing in Granite Falls and later went to work at Granite Ridge as a housekeeper. After James’ passing Dawn moved to Henry Hill apartments until her stroke then moved to Ren Villa to be near her daughter. She was a member at Granite Falls Lutheran Church and served in the Ladies Aid.
Dawn loved to be with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She really treasured the trips she was able to take with her husband and family throughout the years. She was very fond of her cats and she had several thru the years. Dawn loved to look out the window and bird watch. She enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends. Dawn loved to shop at all the local stores in Granite Falls looking for the best deal.
Dawn is survived by her daughter, Tammy Anderson (fiancée, Mike Dahl) of Renville; grandchildren Audrey (Jason) Frey of Starbuck, Josh (Crystal) Schjenken of Sacred Heart; great grandchildren, Connor, Claira, Cate, Cash Frey, Courtney and Levi Schjenken; siblings, Danny Hagen of Granite Falls, Delano Hagen of Sartell, Dorothy Pettiford of Minneapolis; sister in law, Carol Iverson of Granite Falls; as well as nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends.
Dawn was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Viola Hagen; her husband, James; son, Brian; brothers, Dale, Douglas, David; sister, Deanna.
