Darlene Elizabeth Pearson was born on April 20, 1946 in Montevideo, MN, the daughter of Wesley and Fern Mills. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended the Mills School District #81. She graduated from Maynard Public School in 1964 and married James "Gunner" Pearson on January 28, 1967.Darlene and James made their home in Maynard. She worked at the Maynard Beet Piler, Innovex, S&M Manufacturing and Casey's General Store during her active years. Darlene loved to sew, crochet, play solitaire on the computer and spend time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed sharing her daily story and visiting with her sisters on a regular basis. Other interests of Darlene have included camping, fishing and gardening.Darlene was a caring and compassionate woman. She had the ability to ease any difficult situation and bring humor into play. She maintained a positive outlook and was always laughing, even through her long period of illness. She loved to spend time with her grandson Tayeb and visit with her other grandson Corbin. Darlene also enjoyed the challenge of doing puzzles and never turned down outside assistance in their completion. In the early morning hours of Wednesday, May 18, 2011, Darlene was called peacefully from this life while a resident at the Clara City Care Center. She was 65 years of age.Surviving family include her children- Gordy (& Alyssa) Pearson of Fishers, IN, Jimmer (& Chrissy) Pearson of Noblesville, IN and Becky Pearson of Maynard. Grandchildren- Tayeb Pearson of Maynard, MN, Corbin Pearson of Fishers, IN and looking forward to the arrival of Amelia Maxine Pearson at the end of May; siblings- Carol (& Les) Anderson of Chanhassen, MN, Glennis (& Roger) Jorgenson of Montevideo, MN, Susie (& Harvey) Lewis of Big Lake, MN, Gordy (& Darla Mills) of Montevideo, MN, Marilyn Mateski of Prior Lake, MN and Sandi Flinn of Nelson, MN; brother-in-laws Paul (& Kris) Stavne of Grantsburg, WI and Pete (& Sue) Stavne of Maynard, MN; her mother-in-law Eileen Stavne of Clara City, MN and extended family.
