Daniel Hagen, 84, of Granite Falls, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2022, at the Granite Falls Health Care Center. A visitation will be held on Monday, July 18th from 1 to 3 pm at the Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Granite Falls.

Danny was born to Melvin and Viola (Luedke) Hagen on August 25, 1937, in the Village of Wood Lake, Minnesota. The family moved to the Granite Falls area and Danny attended school in Granite Falls. He lived in rural Granite Falls for many years sharing his house with his mother until her health required greater care. He later lived at the Henry Hill Apartments for several years and most recently has been a resident at the Care Center.
Danny worked as the grave digger for Hamre Funeral Service in Granite Falls for many years and later for Wing Bain Funeral Home. He also worked for several area farmers. He loved fishing in the Minnesota River and also enjoyed attending auctions in the area and collecting and trading cars and many other items.
Danny was a nightly customer of the Kiwanis popcorn stand in downtown Granite Falls for many years and could be seen enjoying popcorn and root beer on the nearby park bench almost every summer evening during the years he lived at the Henry Hill Apartments.
Danny is survived by his brother Delano Hagen of Sauk Rapids, his sister Dorothy Pettiford of Minneapolis and his sisters-in-law Leona Hagen of Detroit Lakes and Lorraine Tebben of Granite Falls. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Cindy Smiglewski, Greg Nordang, Natalie Nordang, Bradley Nordang, Lisa Nordang, Debbie Fossan, Kathy Balfany, Laurie Hagen, Susie Hagen, JoAnn Hildahl, Sharon Hagen, Amy Hagen, Tammy Dahl, Donna Pettiford, Rita Pettiford, Mark Hagen, Karla Hagen and Donnie Hagen. He is also survived by his good friend Merlin Buchholz.
He was preceded in death by his parents Melvin and Viola Hagen, his brothers, David Hagen, Dale Hagen, Doug Hagen, his sisters Deanna Nordang and Dawn Anderson, his brothers-in-law Marvin Nordang and James Anderson, his nephew Brian Anderson and his niece Wendy Hagen.
Danny was a soft-spoken, humble and kind son, brother and uncle.
