Dale Dack

March 15, 1930 — December 21, 2010

Dale Edwin Dack was born March 15, 1930, in Dallas Center, Iowa, the son of Herald and Mary Dack. As a young boy his family moved to northern Minnesota and moved to the Montevideo area in 1939. He attended country school in Camp Release Township and graduated from the Montevideo High School in 1948. Dale served his country in the United States National Guard and was honorably discharged in July of 1952. He returned to the Montevideo area where he farmed. Dale was united in marriage to Darlene Grams on March 3, 1955, at the United Methodist Church in Montevideo. While continuing to farm, Dale kept busy working part time at the sales barn, the veterinarian clinic, Trailway's and Offerman's. In his spare time Dale enjoyed fishing, gardening, reading, garage sales and spending time with his family. Later in life he would visit Trailway's in the morning followed by a trip to the Montevideo Library to read the morning paper. Dale passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2010, at his residence. He was 80 years of age. He is survived by his wife Darlene; three children: Mary Saathoff of Clara City; Dan (Deb) Dack and Bill (Sue) Dack all of Montevideo; seven grandchildren: Wade Saathoff (special friend Dawn Evensvold); Josh (Beth) Dack; Chad (Amanda) Dack; Erik Dack (fiancé Lyndsae Norman); Jesse Dack (special friend Questa Jibben); Nicole Dack (special friend Kevin Gervais); and Matt Dack (special friend Victoria Tweeter and her daughter Samara); four great grandchildren: Cooper Dack, Brody Dack, Peyton Dack and Cadence Dack; four brothers: Harry (Ann) Dack of Enterprise, Alabama; Don (Liz) Dack of Clarkfield; John (Gerri) Dack of Granite Falls and Ed (Nancy) Dack of Montevideo; sister-in-law Lucy Dack of Clinton, Wisconsin; sister-in-law Margaret Mckee of Denver, CO; brother-in- law Mike (Cheryl) Johnson of Montevideo; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Ernie Dack; son-in-law Doug Saathoff; brother-in-law Dick Mckee; sisters-in-law Kay Dack and Susan Davis and nephew Steve Dack.
