Dale Gordon Arneson was born on November 9, 1935 in Granite Falls, MN. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He grew up in and attended school in Granite Falls, graduating in 1953.
On June 17, 1962 Dale was united in marriage to Kay Twitchell at Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton. To this union, 3 children were born.
Dale and Kay started Arneson Trucking in the early 1960s, hauling grain, freight, and livestock and also operating the livestock sales barn. Dale continued trucking throughout his life until his retirement. He also ventured into other areas of business, managing Tri County Co-op for several years and later purchasing the Phillips 66 service station where the entire family worked for many years.
Dale was active in the community. He was a member of the Granite Falls Rescue Squad for many years and was also involved in the Western Fest celebration, serving as chairman in the early 80s.
Dale enjoyed spending time with his family & friends. He loved to go have coffee and visit with the “dice crew” at Tillie’s, and he enjoyed keeping busy at home with his dogs and yardwork.
Dale passed away August 14, 2017 at his home. He is survived by his children Andy (Jen) of Granite Falls, Teri (Kirk) of Wood Lake and Charlie (Missy) of Granite Falls; grandchildren Joshua, Michael, Ashley, Ethan, Jordin, Colton & Christian; great grandchildren Makyah, Jayden, Greyson, Brody, Owen & Olivia, and several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin & Frances, stepfather Lawrence, wife Kay, sister Mary Ann, niece Janice, and several aunts and uncles.
