Curtis Robert Timm was born on June 13, 1953, in Granite Falls, the son of Alfred & Mavis (Jeseritz) Timm. He was baptized, confirmed and attended parochial school at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wood Lake. Curt graduated from the Granite Falls High School in 1971.
On June 16, 1973, Curt was united in marriage to Daphne Ellingson. They lived and raised their family in Granite Falls. They celebrated 43 years of friendship and marriage. Curt and Daphne were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Tysha Kay and Alesha Kay. Curt was a devoted husband, a loving father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. He was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where he enjoyed singing in the men’s choir and ushering.
Curt’s employment included Hempel Brothers Masonry, Granite Falls Police Reserve and Rodger’s Hydraulic/Victor Fluid Power.
Curt enjoyed all God’s gifts on earth. He especially loved spending time outdoors, enjoying wildlife & nature, camping, cooking and spending time at the family farm. He always made time to make his regular visits around town. Curt’s greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren, which he thought the world of.
Curt was received into the Lord’s heavenly kingdom on Sunday, April 9, 2017. He was 63 years of age.
He is survived by his wife Daphne; children: Tysha (Kyle) Josephson of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Alesha (Jeremy) Hjelle of New London; three grandchildren: Ashlyn & Austin Josephson and Parker Hjelle; father Alfred Timm; siblings: Thomas Timm, Jean (Roland) Peirce, Craig (Sue) Timm and Lee Timm; sisters-in-law: Vicki (Mark) Bakken, Ann (Mike) Ree and Jill (Tim) Sand; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother Mavis Timm and his mother and father-in-law Russell and Marlys Ellingson.
