Corrine LaVerna Steffen, age of 87, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2019 at the Granite Falls Health Care Center surrounded by her family. Corrine was born in Clarkfield, MN on October 26, 1931, the daughter of Laurents and Idella Enstad. She was baptized and confirmed at Stoney Run Lutheran Church. Corrine attended country school and later the Granite Falls High School.
Corrine was united in marriage to Harold Steffen on June 23, 1947, in Stillwater, MN. They made their home in Granite Falls MN. Together they owned and managed Steffen's 66 Service Station. Corrine worked various jobs to include nursing and chiropractic assistant, and secretarial work at St Paul Lutheran Church.
Corrine enjoyed a variety of crafts, picture puzzles, brain teasers, playing cards, bingo, electronic games, and music. Most importantly she Loved family time. She will always be remembered as the “Queen of Farkle”! She was a member of the Granite Falls American Legion Auxiliary, and Sons of Norway.
Corrine is survived by her 7 children: Steven (Jody) Steffen of Starbuck, MN, Linda (Ernie) Streich, Kerry (Julie) Steffen, Boyd (Tammy) Steffen, Valerie (Dan) Hildahl, Kristie Specht all of Granite Falls, MN and Julie (Ken) Grode of Queen Creek AZ, 23 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, 17 great great grandchildren, siblings: Berger (Marlene) Enstad of Sun Prairie WI, Dennis Enstad of Montevideo MN, Marlys Lundin of Marshall MN, Dixie Johnson of Granite Falls MN and extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold, in 1982, her parents Laurents and Idella, sisters Ina Harbor and Glenda Worsech, brothers Allen Enstad and David Enstad, sisters in law Shirley Enstad and Debra Enstad, brothers in law John Worsech and Dwayne Harbor, granddaughter Shannon Steffen, grandsons Michael Lewison and Mathew Kahler.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 15th at 1:30 pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Granite Falls. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
