Corrine Knutson
May 10, 1942 — August 31, 2014
Corrine Mae Knutson was born on May 10, 1942, in New Salem, ND, the daughter of Henry and Kathryn (Weber) Joersz. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and graduated from high school in 1960 in Hazen, ND. Corrine then attended Nursing School at St. Luke’s in Fargo, ND. After graduating she worked briefly in Hazen, ND, Denver, CO and Armour, SD before settling in Montevideo. She worked in the nursing field for 42 years.
On December 27, 1964, Corrine was united in marriage to Fred Knutson. They made their home in Montevideo for 41 years and Corrine was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Montevideo.
Corrine was a loving, kind, caring and gentle mom, wife grandma and friend. Her family meant the most to her and she loved watching her children and grandchildren grow up. Fred and Corrine traveled thousands of miles over the years to be with family and take vacations. She spent hours caring for her flowers and loved to knit blankets to give as gifts. She looked forward to family visits and took great pride in preparing food for her family and friends. She made the best pasta salad and the most amazing brownies!
Corrine was peacefully called from this life at her home in the early morning hours of Sunday, August 31, 2014, at the age of 72 years. Her gentle spirit and beautiful smile will be missed by all who knew her.
Surviving family include her husband Fred of Montevideo; her 3 children: Chad (& Laura) Knutson of Garwood, NJ, Kirstie (& Paul) Meyer of Marshall, and Jeff (& Stacy) Knutson of New Lisbon, WI; 7 grandchildren- Ashton Knutson, Tawny Knutson, Emma Knutson, Jenson Meyer, Peter Knutson, Braxton Meyer and Carl Knutson; 2 brothers- Eldon (& Carol) Joersz of Temple, TX and Dennis (& Claudia) Joersz of Buffalo, NY; 1 sister- Renelle Joersz of Montevideo; MN and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an older brother Ronnie Joersz.
The family requests memorials be given to your local Hospice or a cancer research organization of choice in lieu of floral arrangements.
