Constance Diane (Potter) Markgraf was born July 23, 1941 in Granite Falls, MN to Robert & Shirley (Fruin) Potter. She was baptized and confirmed at the United Church of Christ, and graduated in the class of 1959 at Granite Falls High School. She was so proud to have been a majorette with the high school marching band. She went on to earn her accounting degree. On September 5, 1959 she was united in marriage to Lennis Blaine Markgraf of Wood Lake Minnesota. They resided in Granite Falls MN where they raised their four children and attended St. PaulÂ?s Lutheran Church. Connie was employed by the Granite Falls Bank, the State of Minnesota as a tax examiner, self employed as a public accountant and bookkeeper, and most recently taught accounting at Minnesota West Community and Technical College. Connie was involved in Birthday Club, was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, was an avid fan of the Minnesota Twins and Vikings, and loved family gatherings where she had a chance to be with her grandchildren and play games. Connie passed away surrounded by her loving family on August 20, 2013 at Oak Crossing Transitional Care Unit in Detroit Lakes, MN. She is survived by her husband Lennis Markgraf, 4 children: Kevin (Lori) Markgraf of Granite Falls, Julie (Scott) Sachs of Pelican Rapids, Curtis (Staci) Markgraf of Pelican Rapids, Kimberly (Charles) Oien of Elgin, ND; 12 grandchildren: Jolene (Dan) Fromm of Fort Ripley, Ashley Markgraf (Jeff Thomsen) of Hutchinson, Shauntae (Tim) Reese of San Ramon, California, Sarah (Travis) Grahn of Pelican Rapids, Zachary, Brianna, McKenna Markgraf of Morrisville PA, Keirsten, Tanner Markgraf of Pelican Rapids, Chase, Hunter and Addisen Oien of Elgin, ND; 6 great grandchildren, Ayva Wilkening, Ruby Fromm, Aiden and Emmy Thomsen, Kaden Grahn, California Reese; Mother-in-law Cecil Markgraf; brothers and sisters, Robert Â?ButchÂ? Potter, Richard (Vicki) Potter, Debra (Barry) Marbach, sisters-in-law Phyllis Teichert, Marilyn Potter and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Robert and Shirley Potter, she was preceded in death by her Father-in-law Marvin Markgraf, 1 brother James Potter, 1 sister Shirley Mae Carrow, 2 brothers-in-law Marvin Teichert, Ronald Markgraf, 3 sisters-in-law, Sharon Markgraf, Yvonne Potter, Marlys Naaktgeboren, and 1 niece Kailey Olson.
